Terrorism is unquestionably one of the critical
factors that deeply affect societies, governments, political systems, national
and global politics in contemporary moment. Terrorism, which tends to achieve
political gains by creating fear and panic on the society by using violence, is
unfortunately increasing and has become a global phenomenon today.
Turkey, on the other hand, is one of the countries
that have experienced the problem of terrorism for decades and have suffered a
large number of victims due to this problem. Although many studies have been
conducted so far on terrorism that our country has faced for many years, it is
clear that new scientific studies are needed for the fact that the problem
continues. We believe that addressing, examining, discussing and analyzing the
terrorism problem that Turkey has been facing, which deeply affects the Turkish
political system and the Public Administration, in all aspects at the KAYFOR,
will contribute greatly to the solution of the problem and the success of the
combat against terrorism. For this reason, the theme of terror was identified
as the main theme in KAYFOR 20.
Terrorism is an issue that needs to be dealt with in a
multi-disciplinary way. Despite this, this problem that Turkey is experiencing
and that deeply affects our security, concerns scientists in departments such
as Public Administration, Political Science, Political Science and Public
Administration more than anyone else. Undoubtedly, the problem also has economic,
educational, social, psychological, legal and similar dimensions. However, it
is seen that terrorism is a problem that the Turkish Public Administration
faces, tries to solve and struggles with. Likewise, since it is a movement of
violence towards a political goal, the solution must be economic, security,
legal, etc. It should be accepted that, besides the regulations, it goes
through the enhancing policies.
In the Congress, it is aimed to address the concept of
terrorism in all its dimensions. In this context, the focus will be on the sources of terror and the reasons that feed
terror. It will be discussed the relationship between terrorism and Public
Administration, terrorism and international structure, terrorism and democracy,
terrorism and human rights. We are expecting participation from Public
Administration and Political Science departments and others at national and
international levels in addition to institutions and officers who are combating
terrorism. It is obvious that outcomes of the Congress will provide theoretical
and practical contribution to the problem of terrorism. We are honored to
welcome you to Malatya Inonu University on 21-23 October 2021.
Sincerely.
